The wonders of Tiny Tinaa new spin-off in the popular Borderlands series, is set to launch on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on March 25, and when available it will support cross-play for all platforms, including PlayStation.
Sony has been notorious for its resistance to crossplay, originally blocking its support in some popular multiplayer games like fortnite and rocket league. Although the company eventually enabled it for both of these games, Borderlands 3 crossplay update launched in June 2021 did not include PlayStation support.
However, when Gearbox CEO and President Randy Pitchford revealed Tiny Tina’s Wonderland cross-play support in a tweet on Sunday (via Kotaku), he said PlayStation cross-play would be enabled and specifically named Sony to “work together on this”. Cooperative multiplayer is a major feature of the gameso support for Sony’s platforms should mean more people can play together.

And in a response on Twitter, Pitchford indicated that he hopes crossplay will come. Borderlands 3 at some point too. “BL3 has supported crossplay for a while [sic]”, he said. “The future PlayStation addition to cross-play for BL3 is now what I would consider inevitable. More information to come as soon as we have it…” Sony did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
