This 1978 Jeep Cherokee Golden Eagle Levi’s Edition is for sale

A store offers an old-school SUV that probably won’t be on the market for too long. Collectors eager for nostalgic jaunts might want to take a look at this 1978 Jeep Cherokee Golden Eagle Levi’s Edition. It’s rare to find an example of its vintage for sale in such good condition.

It is designated as Lot F205 at Mecum Auctions’ Indy 2022 event. At the time, manufacturers marketed their models with neat finishes such as Corinthian leather upholstery and Pierre Cardin-style cockpits. Jeep, on the other hand, went with a cool partner for its vehicle.

To match the exterior of the Cherokee Golden Eagle, the interior sports tan vinyl upholstery and buttons courtesy of Levi’s. As the name suggests, the SUV features the Golden Eagle striping and hood package and branding under the doors. Its colors are stunning and complement the dark brown coat.

You can see the distinct image of the bird with lines extending from the sides and wrapping around the back. Its four-wheel-drive powertrain uses a 360 CI V8 engine and a TH400 automatic transmission. There’s a set of bronze wheels with tall Jeep center caps shod with Milestar Patagonia M/T tires.

With Jeep’s heavy-duty suspension and differentials sourced from Dana, the Cherokee Golden Eagle Levi’s Edition is a capable landing machine. To contrast the earthy hues of its paint, the 1978 Jeep Cherokee Golden Eagle Levi’s Edition features chrome on the roof rack, side mirrors, roof rack and its rubber front/rear bumpers.

Inside, you’ll find a three-spoke steering wheel, a special instrument cluster overlay, and a medallion on the glove box. Mecum Auctions expects Levi’s 1978 Golden Eagle Jeep Cherokee Edition to sell for between $60,000 and $80,000.
