Founded in 2007, Martine Rose’s eponymous label has grown into a considerable cult following over the years, often drawing inspiration from various subcultures including hip-hop, rave and punk. As Martine Rose gears up her SS23 collection with a highly anticipated footwear collaboration with Nike, the brand finally seems to be stepping into the spotlight after a steady 15-year rise.
Martine Rose was shortlisted for the LVMH Prize in 2017 and was nominated for the CFB Awarded British Menswear Designer of the Year in 2018 and 2017. Beyond creating her own brand, Rose notably helped Demna Gvasalia launch Balenciaga menswear as a creative consultant .
While deliberations continue, neither LV nor Martine Rose have yet responded to the rumors. In the meantime, Louis Vuitton’s next men’s show will arrive in Paris on June 23.
