Anand Mahindra is very active on Twitter and continues to share interesting articles and videos. This time, he shared a video of a Bengal tiger chewing on a Mahindra Xylo’s bumper. You can even see the tiger pulling the vehicle. The video was shared on Twitter by Anand Mahindra and the video was recorded in Bannerghatta National Park, Bangalore, when a Xylo broke down and wasn’t doing it again.
Go around #Signal like wildfire. Apparently on the road from Ooty to Mysore near Theppakadu. Well, this car is a Xylo, so I guess I’m not surprised that he nibbles on it. He probably shares my opinion that Mahindra cars are Deeeliciousss. ?? pic.twitter.com/A2w7162oVU

One thing this video proves is that tigers are incredibly powerful. Xylo is not a light vehicle. In fact, it has a curb weight of 1875 kg and you can see that there are six occupants seated in the Xylo. We can therefore assume that the tiger was pulling nearly 2 tons.
The Xylo’s battery was dead and the occupants could not get out and push the vehicle because as you can see there are a lot of tigers around the vehicle. Because of this, the Xylo got stuck in the middle of the road. The tigers came out of the jungle out of curiosity and began to play with the vehicle. Eventually, the Xylo was towed to safety by the Bannerghatta National Park rescue team.
In July 2019, Mahindra announced that it would be shutting down the Xylo due to BS4 emission standards and more stringent crash safety standards. The Xylo was a fairly large SUV. It was 4,520 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,895 mm high. Xylo had a wheelbase of 2,760 mm.
It was offered with two diesel engines. There was a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine and a 2.5-liter CRDe diesel engine. The mHawk engine produced a maximum power of 120 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm, while the CRDe engine produced 95 hp of maximum power and 220 Nm of maximum torque. Both engines were mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and Xylo was only offered as a rear-wheel drive vehicle.
Upcoming Mahindra launches
Mahindra is currently working on the launch of its new SUV, the Scorpio 2022. It is a new generation of Scorpio that will be based on the reworked ladder chassis. This will help improve the ride quality and handling of the SUV. Scorpio 2022 will launch before Diwali 2022.
It will be offered with a gasoline and diesel engine. Both engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The diesel engine will also come with a 4 × 4 transmission. In addition, there will be driving modes and terrain modes.
